Kuttey - Dog hai ji dog

Kuttey, directed by nepo baby Aasman Bhardwaj, son of Vishal and Rekha Bhardwaj, and now available on Netflix, tries to be quirky and edgy (saying MC BC quite often seems to be the way to show it ) and be a desi Tarantino Pulp Fiction but goes over the edge and the effort shows. Tries to throw in many angles from cops to gangsters to naxals on a non linear plot while seeming to tell the audience constantly, look how smart my storytelling is. A couple of the scenes are genuinely laugh out funny though, especially one about forming a WhatsApp group. Tabu is Tabu which means she is good but the effort to be cool shows on her too. Lots of good actors seem wasted in small roles (Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen, Ashish Vidyarthi). Kumud Mishra and Arjun Kapoor try to be the odd couple cop partners but needed better writing to bring out some chemistry. Good part is it’s only 1hr 48 mins long so an ok watch on a late weekend night because at that time as Tabu says “Logic ki maa ki aankh”.

Let's cut to the chase, since everyone already has a bunch of preconceived notions of the movie - about its length (at a bladder bursting 3 hours 22 minutes, the RunPee app was never more in demand),
